Daniil Trifonov replacement due to illness

Peter Donohoe playing the piano on stage

Due to illness, Daniil Trifonov is unable to perform his recital. We are very pleased to have programmed a recital by British pianist Peter Donohoe in its place.

We are incredibly grateful to Peter Donohoe for making himself available at such short notice, particularly given his double bill of performances with the London Symphony Orchestra this week.

Since his success as joint winner of the 1982 International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, Peter Donohoe has developed a distinguished international career and is considered one of the foremost pianists of our time for his musicianship, versatility and commanding technique. Donohoe has a longstanding relationship with Daniil Trifonov, which began when Donohoe sat on the judging panel for Trifonov’s winning performance in the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in 2011.

'I cannot imagine a living pianist capable of improving upon Donohoe’s outstanding artistry.' (Musical Opinion)

'Peter Donohoe played as if visited by the spirit of Rachmaninov.' (Guardian)

Tickets for Trifonov’s recital remain valid for this performance and if you would like to attend, you can use the same tickets. However if you no longer wish to attend and would like credit for your tickets, you can arrange this yourself up to two hours before the concert by logging into your account on the website, selecting your tickets and then Return Items. Or you can contact our Box Office at [email protected], who will be able to process a full refund.

This performance will finish at approximately 9.40pm, including a 20-minute interval
