Spirit of Change: The Transform Pit Party

Woman with eyes closed covered in jewels and embellishment

Known for ‘ripping up the rule book’ (BBC), Leeds-based Transform take over The Pit, bringing us interactive theatre, bite-sized performances, intimate storytelling and musical ritual.

Investigating ideas of activism, race and identity, the artists gathered for our latest Pit Party are united by a fierce independent spirit that carries an ethos of change. Engaging directly with people and place, they are driven by issues facing the world today, their genre-defying work a platform for exchange.

Producing bold and playful festivals in their home city by reimagining what theatre can look like and what it can do, Transform arrive at the Barbican for the first time with an energising two-day programme. Featuring adventurous companies and performers from the north of England and beyond, there are chances to watch, converse, interact one-on-one and get fully involved in the Spirit of Change.
