Mammal Hands

Black and white landscape press shot of Mammal Hands

The ethereal, innovative trio Mammal Hands present their captivating mix of contemporary classical and ambient jazz for a trance-like Hall performance.

Formed in Norwich in 2012, Mammal Hands have forged their own path away from the musical mainstream with their unique sound born out of long, improvised rehearsals. All three members contribute equally to the writing process: one that favours the creation of a powerful group dynamic over individual solos. Their records are entrancing affairs, while their hypnotic live shows have seen them hailed as one of Europe's most avant-garde bands.

The debut of their fifth studio album Gift from the Trees brings with it spell-binding recordings that point to subtle shifts and exciting new departures for the unique trio. Deeply enthralling, it captures much of what makes Mammal Hands so special: dreamlike, liminal ambiances, beautifully realised melodies and a delicate lyricism – while mapping out new routes and paths for their beguiling music.
