Our Precious Planet

with BBC Symphony Orchestra and Grégoire Pont

Illustration of various types of plants against a black background

Marvel at the beauty and fragility of our world in a family concert of sound and storytelling, with Grégoire Pont’s drawings projected live alongside thrilling music from the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Explore the chaos of the Big Bang and the wonders of Mother Earth, meeting a magnificent array of birds, insects, animals and even a few dinosaurs along the way. Discover the destruction as human activity goes into overdrive. Dramatic, moving and at times laugh-out loud funny, we ask the ultimate question: what do we want the future of our precious planet to look like?

Artist Grégoire Pont is passionate about using animation to bring classical music to life for young audiences, illustrating live to music in his performance concept ‘Cinesthetics’. ‘It would be impossible to draw a list of all the tricks and spells that the young audience discovers with amazement during the performance’ says ResMusica. Tonight, Pont is aided by the wonderful sounds of the orchestra conducted by Dalia Stasevska, and presented by Blue Peter's Richie Driss.

This performance will finish at approximately 6.10pm, with no interval

This performance is designed for children aged 711, though younger and older children are very welcome to attend
