Hiromi’s Sonicwonder

Part of EFG London Jazz Festival

Hiromi

With unrivalled creative energy that encompasses and eclipses the boundaries of jazz, classical and pop, Hiromi takes improvisation and composition to new heights of complexity and sophistication.

Hiromi's astonishing 2003 debut album Another Mind electrified audiences worldwide and proved to forecast the shape of jazz to come. A critical success in North America and Japan, it shipped gold and received the Recording Industry Association of Japan’s Jazz Album of the Year Award. She has since gone on to record with Chick Corea on Duet, appeared on Stanley Clarke’s GRAMMY winning release Jazz in the Garden and performed at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics.

Her latest album Silver Lining Suite (2021) further exemplifies her virtuosic hybridity and emotional range, finding strength and hope amidst the turmoil of the pandemic.

Tonight Hiromi performs a cross-section of her material. Opening the show is Hiromi: The Piano Quintet.
