Simply Quartet

ECHO Rising Stars

The players of Simply Quartet stand separately, each with a different coloured rectangle behind them

Simply Quartet are, simply, ‘one of the brightest quartets of its generation’ says Vladimir Balshin. As cellist of one of the world’s oldest and most distinguished chamber groups, he should know.

‘Full dedication, high quality performances and great musicality – all features of this wonderful ensemble’, says the Borodin Quartet’s cellist. Come and see for yourself in a programme bringing together the unusual instrumental techniques of Webern’s Five Movements, the deep sadness of Bartok’s final string quartet, and the melding of traditional Austrian folk and world music that is Julia Lacherstorfer’s trademark.

With members from China, Austria and Norway, Simply Quartet pride themselves on absorbing as many different musical styles, cultures and influences as possible to develop their own musical language. A growing collection of First Prizes at leading international chamber music competitions and nomination for ECHO Rising Stars from the Wiener Konzerthaus and Musikverein no-less suggest they’re on to a winning formula.

This performance will finish at approximately 2pm.

Nominated by the Wiener Konzerthaus and Musikverein Wien
