Minari (12)

Cinema On Demand

a family stand together with green landscape behind them

This Oscar-nominated film is a beautiful drama about a Korean-American family who struggle to achieve their American Dream.

Directed and written by Lee Isaac Chung (nominated for Best Director and Original Screenplay at the 2021 Academy Awards), this film is a tender and sweeping story about what roots us and the complexity of family. Jacob (Steven Yeun) and Monica (Yeri Han), along with their two children, move to a tiny farm in rural Arkansas. Jacob is determined to succeed in his own American Dream by working the land and creating a lucrative business, but Monica isn't sure they've made the right decision moving away from the city.

The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother (Oscar winner, Yuh-jung Youn). Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
