The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival 2019

Film, Power and Politics

Woman carrying blades in a procession

The Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival returns here for its 10th anniversary, with four specially programmed films showing different aspects of the South Asian political landscape now.

Part of a LIFF Barbican Cinema strand, Film, Power and Politics: in one of the most rapidly changing political regions of the world, South Asian filmmakers are often at the frontline – recording, reflecting on and at times questioning – the powerful brokers and political decision-makers.

Directors, Anand Patwardhan, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Praveen Morchhale and Gaurav Bakshi will all be joining us across the festival to discuss their films and the current social and political issues facing India.

For the full festival programme, check out the LIFF website.
