#Gadhvi (15*)

+ Introduction by director Gaurav Bakshi

A man meditating

The European premiere of this whip-smart political and social satire about hero-building and the perils of social media fame.

A retired, and by all accounts, nondescript widower inadvertently takes on the establishment and becomes a social media sensation preaching Gandhi's pacifist principles.

However, Ram Nath Gadhvi is no ordinary Gandhian, believing he is the reincarnation of the Mahatma itself.

As Gadhvi attracts more and more followers, he inevitably finds himself with enemies -namely, hired-gun Omkar, who has been tasked with suppressing a surge of anti-establishment anger by shattering Gadhvi’s delusion and crushing his core beliefs.

Gaurav Bakshi’s debut feature is both an incisive and comical satire, playing out like a thriller that leaves its audience guessing about who Gadhvi really is and if he is actually Gandhi’s reincarnation.
