The Milk Carton Kids

+ Rosie Carney

The Milk Carton Kids

The indie-folk duo from Eagle Rock, California perform their intricate, close harmony Americana songs from their latest album.

Both Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale have gone through some challenging life experiences since they last played in the UK following 2015’s studio album Monterey. Because of this, the Grammy-nominated duo’s latest album All the Things That I Did and All the Things That I Didn’t Do takes a more personal direction for the pair.

Through their live performance which use powerful lyricism and harmonies, their songs communicate the depth and intricacies of these recent personal events. Juxtaposing sombre songs against witty on stage banter creates a contrasting and entertaining experience. For this live show, the duo will present new songs as well as material from their back catalogue, influenced by their lives and America’s complex political landscape today.

Opening, indie-folk singer-songwriter Rosie Carney performs her debut album Bare.

Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale get a lot done with subtle gestures, but there's real sophistication to the three gorgeous, harmony-rich folk-pop songs they recently performed in the NPR Music offices.
