Sensory Play in the Classroom

Inspired by To the Moon and Back, Artistic Director and founder of M-SET, Paula Manning, will be running two twilight CPD sessions exploring cross-curricular sensory play in the classroom.   

You’ll encounter props and scenes that conjure the natural world, made of unusual and tactile materials, from feather rain to velvet stars, as the CPD session will take place amongst the delightful installations combining live music, drama and visual arts designed to stimulate the senses. Come away with a toolkit of creative ideas and learn how everyday objects can be turned into tools for creativity and fun in the classroom in both primary and secondary contexts. Open to both SEND specialist and mainstream teachers.

As part of the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire of London, we commissioned a special edition of Barbican Box, filled with objects designed to incite creativity. Take a look at this film, created by Year 2 pupils from Sir John Cass Primary School.
