three black and white photobooth photos of lee krasner

Join Ruth Appelhof for excerpts from her memoir of Lee Krasner, which features over 100 oral histories with her contemporaries.

This special evening sees Ruth Appelhof and Saskia Flower discuss Appelhof's forthcoming memoir of Lee Krasner.

Appelhof is Executive Director Emerita of Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York. She earned her PhD from Syracuse University having written her dissertation on American Modernism.

She began her career in museums as a Helena Rubenstein Fellow at the Whitney Museum of American Art and has since directed museums across the country. Appelhof was a visiting scholar of the American Academy in Rome in 2017 and is currently a Fellow at the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center. Her memoir of Krasner is inspired by the summer that she stayed with the artist in East Hampton in 1974.
