Trying to Conceive Lunch

Fertility Fest

Pregnancy tests

This is a lunch with a difference. Two visual artists in the thick of treatment themselves will be sharing their journeys and the art it has inspired.

Jon Barker, artist and science teacher, will be talking about how an exercise with his students involving plasticine resonated with his own fertility journey.

Anna German, illustrator and art teacher has produced a pop up picture book entitled So When Are You Going To Have Kids? which looks like it’s a book for children, but most definitely isn’t.

Writer and speaker Alice Rose will be making a special appearance to tell you about her Think! What Not To Say campaign

After presentations from the artists our fabulous event partners from Fertility Network UK (Aileen Feeney and Anya Sizer) and IVF Babble (Sara Marshall Page and Tracey Bamborough) will be hosting the discussion.

Your ticket includes a lunchbox with a falafel, houmous and roasted veg wrap, an apple and a bottle of water - contact box office with any allergy or dietary questions.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Key information

We want Fertility Fest to be as inclusive as possible and this means being sensitive to people with and without children. We are conscious that some people who are struggling to conceive or are involuntarily childless find it difficult to be around children. But we are equally conscious that there are people who have been on a long and complex journey to conceive who want to come to the festival and might not have childcare support. We don’t want anyone to feel excluded.

With this in mind, we therefore ask that if you would like to or need to bring children / babes in arms to the event or you find it particularly difficult to be around children then please contact us at [email protected] ahead for a chat about how to give you the best experience on the day and make sure we can positively address all people’s feelings and needs.
