Installation of Ayse Erkmen

Turkish artist Ayşe Erkmen’s installation highlighted the artistry and craft of scenic painting.

From fairy tale landscapes, to atmospheric interiors and abstract designs, a series of scenic backdrops moved up and down on an automated fly system. Dividing the gallery, the backdrops became performers in their own production.

Supported using public funding by Arts Council England. Additional support provided by SAHA Association and Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (IFA).
