Seven Septets

A collage of headshots of the seven performers, with a purpley-blue filter over the top

Seven unique musical voices, seven specially created new works. An ensemble of virtuosic and versatile contemporary musicians alternate in leading their fellow performers.

Classical, Jazz and experimental improvisation fuse in an electrifying showcase of cutting-edge music from some of the UK's brightest composer-performers. Multi-instrumentalists in their own rights, each takes a turn to lead with a musical concept of their own, while the remainder of the group illuminate these ideas with their own semi-improvised accompaniment.

Featuring Jas Kayser, Jazz FM Breakthrough Act of the Year Award 2021; multidisciplinary percussionist and artist Angela Wai Nok Hui; ‘boundary-blurring composer and improviser’ (Guardian) Fred Thomas; BBC Jazz Award winner Kit Downes; 'latter-day Cathy Berberian or Meredith Monk’ (The Times) soprano and composer Héloïse Werner; 'wildly alternative' (Soundfly) cellist, vocalist and composer Laura Moody; and composer, cellist and October House Records founder Colin Alexander.
