Feel the Sound

An exhibition experience on a different frequency

text card reads 'are you listening'

Imagine experiencing sound for the very first time.

Our new immersive exhibition will rearrange what you think sound is. Feel the Sound includes multi-sensory installations that take you on a journey across locations in the Barbican, from our car parks to the Lakeside Terrace.

Dance to beats from car sound-systems.
Join an ever expanding choral experience.
Discover your inner symphony.
Feel music without any sound.

Please note that this exhibition features varying sound levels and some narrow spaces to pass through. Some installations also contain shifting light that may affect viewers who are sensitive to light or have photosensitive epilepsy. Please speak to a member of staff for further information.

Produced by the Barbican, co-produced by Mon Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives, Tokyo, Japan.

Feel the Sound is sponsored by Destination Partner: Culture Mile BID and Audio Partner d&b audiotechnik with additional support from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation and the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation.
