Vashti Bunyan

Marking the release of her memoir, singer-songwriter Vashti Bunyan performs a career retrospective show including material from her now cult album Just Another Diamond Day.

Performing with an ensemble led by Fiona Brice, her lilting lyrics and guitar are framed in their full beauty in the original arrangements by Robert Kirby. Written during an odyssey of discovery – a 1968 road trip by horse and wagon – the songs on Diamond Day convey an innocent wonder at the world around her, whilst disguising a deeper turmoil under the surface.

Vashti’s memoir, Wayward: Just Another Life to Live, tells the story of this album – from a barefoot girl on the road learning to take back control of her own life, to her career revival following the rediscovery and rerelease in 2000 of her previously commercially unsuccessful album.

After the concert Vashti will be signing copies of her memoir.
