UP Projects and Barbican Centre present an evening of conversations with artists Ewan Atkinson, Shezad Dawood and Danielle Dean, alongside digital cultures experts Shumi Bose and Dr Charlotte Frost.
Danielle Dean and Ewan Atkinson will share their recent commissions Fordland and Formality* and are joined by Shezad Dawood who will speak about Leviathan, a multi-faceted artwork comprising a 10-part film, a VR trilogy, sculptures, paintings accompanied by an extensive public programme and website.
The artists will discuss the intersection of technological development and environmental degradation, citizenship and social acceptability, and the relationships between climate change, mental health and migration with Shumi Bose, Curator at the Royal Institute of British Architects and Senior Lecturer in Spatial Practice at Central Saint Martins, and Dr Charlotte Frost, Associate Context Editor at Furtherfield.
Throughout the evening, we invite the audience to submit their questions via social media and be part of the conversation.

Founded in 2002, UP Projects is a charity based in London that supports artists to make work that has social relevance, encourages learning and enriches the public sphere.
This Is Public Space is UP Projects’ ongoing programme of commissions that invites international artists to develop new artworks for digital domains. Commissions to date include Lawrence Lek, John Walter, Hannah Black, Ruth Beale, Juneau Projects, Laura Eldret and Constant Dullaart.
