Join Nikki Giovanni, the world-renowned poet and leading figure of the Black Arts Movement for this in conversation and film screening hosted by author and broadcaster Emma Dabiri.

Her poetry has dazzled and inspired readers for more than sixty years. In celebration of her illustrious career,  Nikki Giovanni sits down with Emma Dabiri at this special event to discuss the release of her latest anthology Poems: 1968-2020, published by Penguin Modern Classics this March.

Following the conversation, there will be a screening of the award-winning documentary Going to Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project. This acclaimed film explores Giovanni’s powerful expressions of the Black experience against the backdrop of the Civil Rights Movement up to Black Lives Matter.
