The Costumes of Poor Things

Exhibition

A woman in a yellow dress stands in front of a man in a forest.

We are delighted to host an exhibition of the costumes from Yorgos Lanthimos' absurdist comedy Poor Things, curated by costume designer Holly Waddington.

Alongside our screenings of Poor Things, we are delighted to present the costumes designed by costume designer Holly Waddington in collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos, on exhibition as worn in the film by Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe.

Poor Things is an adaptation of the novel by Scottish author Alasdair Gray, about a young woman (Emma Stone) brought back to life by a doctor (Willem Dafoe) and has to relearn how to exist within Victorian society.

Holly Waddington, costume designer said, “I'm delighted that these costumes are going to be on display in this great cultural iconic building.  I've always been a huge fan of the Barbican - its thrilling architecture and all of the wonderful things that go on here. I’m excited for visitors to the Barbican to be able to see these costumes up close.”

Open daily, from 10:45am to 8pm.

This exhibition is free to attend, no booking is required.
