Leonor Will Never Die (15)

Still from Leonor Will Never Die

Leonor goes full square-eyes when she becomes the hero of her action movie in this Filipino psychological comedy.

In an ode to the Filipino action movies of the 70s comes Leonor Will Never Die.  Fiction and reality blur when Leonor, a retired screenwriter, is hit on the head with a rogue TV, and she becomes the hero of her own unfinished movie.

Struggling with the challenges of ageing, and mourning the unexpected death of her son, Leonor is really not serving main character energy. Thrown into a coma, her luck (arguably) turns, and she finds her dreams and reality meddling together with action-packed energy.

Premiering at the Sundance 2022 World Cinema Dramatic Competition, Martika Ramirez Escobar feature is a real love story to filmmaking and the creative process.
