Sven's firm grip on the band's dynamics, both on and off the stage, seems unshakable – until the arrival of a new alto saxophonist. This newcomer, a seasoned jazz artist with experience from Stockholm's club circuit, introduces a fresh dynamic to the group.

His commitment to jazz is unwavering, and his art is his very essence. Through his presence he tries to convince the small town band of the brave new world of be-bop. The film explores a clash between tradition and innovation, and the power of music to shape destinies.
