Young Barbican Night: Friendships in Business
This is a free event.
To celebrate International Friendship Day, we hear from a remarkable panel of women about working in the creative industry and climbing the career ladder with your bestie.
Young Barbican have teamed up with Pepper Your Talk to bring you a panel discussion hosted by Dior Bediako and iconic friendship duo fashion features editor at Stylist Magazine Billie Bhatia and Stylist’s Style Director Polly Knight.
These incredible women will speak from their personal and professional experiences about the importance of true friendship, creating a support network and how these can bring you wonderful opportunities.
Irene Agbontaen and Grace Ladoja have decided to withdraw from Young Barbican Night: Friendships In Business in solidarity with those featured in Barbican Stories who have experienced racism at the Barbican.
Please note this event is for Young Barbican members only. If you are aged 14-25 years old you can join Young Barbican for free. You will need a Young Barbican membership before you continue to book tickets.

Speakers
Dior Bediako is the founder of two initiatives centred on providing career support to young fashion hopefuls. Having started her career in PR at Burberry, Dior was frustrated by how little help there was for newbies in fashion; leading her to first create Pepper Your Talk for students and graduates, and then went on to launch The Junior Network for entry-level fashion professionals.
Dior is also a host and speaker, having covered events such as Stylist Live, Draper’s Fashion Forum and has worked with brands such as Arcadia, British Fashion Council and more.
Billie Bhatia is fashion features editor and columnist at Stylist Magazine. Having taken an unorthodox route to fashion through Latin and Law, she cut her teeth at British Vogue and Elle before heading over to Stylist in 2018 as fashion writer. Now she covers everything from designer profiles and trend reports to wider social commentary and soul-baring thoughts on life in your thirties.
Stylist’s Style Director, Polly Knight is responsible for the fashion offering in the magazine which stretches from shopping trends to celebrity cover shoots. Polly built up her styling career at Harper’s Bazaar, Red and Grazia and when not pulling together rails of clothes she can be found serving minimalist looks and hanging out in Arket.
