Two of Us (12A)

Barbara Sukowa and Martine Chevallier look lovingly into each other's eyes in a still from the film Two of Us

This passionate and suspenseful thriller follows the deep relationship between two women who have secretly loved each other for years. When they are separated, how will they come back to one another?

Nina (Barbara Sukowa) and Madeleine (Marine Chevallier) have lived across the hallway from one another for most of their lives. Their love has survived husbands and children, and in the freedom of their later years, the pair decide to live together in Rome.

But when unexpected events keep the two women apart from one other, and the secrecy of their unbreakable bond stops them from being together, leading Nina to resort to creative measures to be with the love of her life.

A beautiful and assured film, Filippo Meneghetti’s debut brings romance and suspense together very effectively.
