Visible Cloaks with Yoshio Ojima & Satsuki Shibano

Spencer Doran and Ryan Carlile (Visible Cloaks) with Yoshio Ojima and Satsuki Shibano standing in a park

Electronic music duo, Visible Cloaks, collaborate with two trailblazers of the Japanese avant-garde music scene, Yoshio Ojima & Satsuki Shibano.

The evening’s performance follows the release of collaborative record, FRKWYS Vol. 15: serenitatem, on RVNG International last year. Meaning serenity, serenitatatum is a contemplative and uncluttered ambient soundscape that entwines tradition with technology; merging the ambient noise of the natural world with digital textures.

As Visible Cloaks, Spencer Doran and Ryan Carlile have developed a set of creative strategies that fuse human intention, aleatoric composition, and improvisation. Yoshio Ojima & Satsuki Shibano are among a handful of influential Japanese artists whose innovations still resonate as vibrantly as ever, well beyond the tightly-knit scene’s original core. Inseparable from the technology that made it possible, this collaboration is a synthesis of artistic visions, technological sophistication and futurist ambition.
