Father & Son: Robert Levin plays Mozart

Academy of Ancient Music

Robert Levin playing the piano, wearing a flowing black silk shirt

Embark on an exploration of musical lineage with music of the Elder and Younger Mozart, performed in concert by one of the world’s leading Mozart specialists, Robert Levin.

A frequent collaborator with AAM and featured artist with Christopher Hogwood on the celebrated early-instrument accounts of Mozart’s piano concertos, here Levin joins the Academy of Ancient Music to both perform and direct from the keyboard.

Featuring W A Mozart’s Piano Concertos K 107, Nos 1, 2 & 3, along with chamber and orchestral works by Mozart, L Mozart, J S and J C Bach, Levin’s masterful fingers and formidable musical intellect promise to bring an improvisatory spirit to the performance. The result — a spirited, stimulating tour of some of the musical works that link the galant and classical periods.

The performance will finish at approximately 9:30pm. It includes a 20 minute interval.
