Towers of the City and Finsbury

A Barbican Library Foyer Exhibition

Jane Northcote, Towers of the City and Finsbury,

A series of watercolour drawings, prints and etchings celebrating towers and tower blocks.

Starting in the Barbican, Jane sets off with her sketchbook to identify nearby towers and tower blocks and discover their stories.

The towers have character and individuality. Towers of different centuries find themselves next to each other. Jane’s drawings and etchings emphasize these juxtapositions, and show the differences of design, value and culture in the city, across boundaries of space and time.
