La Fedeltà Premiata

by Joseph Haydn

Alice Farnham conducts Guildhall’s autumn opera: Haydn’s rarely performed ‘Fidelity Rewarded’.

An operatic gem from the vast output of musical works written during the composer’s time at Eszterháza, this pastoral tale of love, sacrifice and a sea monster is told through heartfelt and lively music effortlessly spanning opera seria and buffa.

Read Guildhall School's Q&A with conductor Alice Farnham and director Stephen Barlow to find out more about Haydn's opera La Fedeltà Premiata.
