Members’ Brutalist Cake Workshop

with KUFstudios

Flodebolle Cake Workshop

If you love Brutalism and want to expand your culinary skills, then sign up to this brutalist flødebolle cake workshop.

In this workshop led by Kia Utzon-Frank, founder of KUFStudios, you will learn how to make half sphere shaped Flødeboller – cakes consisting of soft Italian meringue on an almond marzipan base covered in chocolate. The cakes have a beautiful speckled, concrete-like surface inspired by the Barbican’s architecture.

Members will learn how to temper chocolate, decorate a chocolate mould and make moulded chocolate shells. You will also learn how to make and flavour an Italian meringue, flavour marzipan and will leave with 8 Flødeboller cakes each.  A mixologist will also be on hand to demonstrate how to make a brutalist themed cocktail, members will get a cocktail each and take the recipe away with them so they can recreate at home.

The workshop will take place in KitchenAid’s beautiful experience store in Central London.

We are holding two workshops: Saturday 7 April and Saturday 19 May, 11-2.30pm.

The workshop is approximately 3.5 hours.
