Guildhall Symphony Orchestra

Conducted by Takuo Yuasa

The Guildhall Symphony Orchestra in the Barbican Hall

Guildhall Symphony Orchestra tackles two masterworks of the 20th century - Mahler's Fourth Symphony and Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring.

Stravinsky’s revolutionary ballet score famously caused a riot on its premiere and Mahler’s Fourth Symphony features in its last movement the exquisite song ‘Das himmlische Leben’, offering a dream of ‘The Heavenly Life’. The Guildhall Symphony Orchestra’s second concert of the season is conducted by Japanese conductor Takuo Yuasa, who last conducted the orchestra in 2016.
