Hansel and Gretel (A nightmare in eight scenes)

Hansel & Gretel at the Guildhall School and Barbican

Hansel and Gretel (A nightmare in eight scenes) is a reimagining of the famous tale, with specially commissioned poetry, chamber music, puppetry and animations, all projected live onto a large screen.

Created and produced by Goldfield Productions, Hansel and Gretel appear as table-top puppets struggling in an unforgiving world of wooden forests, desolate villages and a fearsome predator, creating a sinister fable for our times, with music by Guildhall professor Matthew Kaner.

Suitable for children of 12 and over.

Promoted by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Hansel & Gretel is kindly supported by:
Arts Council England, PRS Foundation, Foyle Foundation, Radcliffe Trust, RVW Trust, Double O Foundation, Leche Trust, Colwinston Trust, John S Cohen Foundation, and an anonymous donor

Goldfield Productions are extremely grateful for the support of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in the development of Hansel & Gretel.
