BBC Radio 3 Rush-Hour Concert: Simone Dinnerstein

Simone Dinnerstein

Simone Dinnerstein, a pianist praised by The Independent for her ‘majestic originality of vision’, concludes this series of Artist Spotlight recitals.

To launch the 2018/19 season, BBC Radio 3 places the spotlight on four leading soloists, introducing us to their musical worlds and inspirations through a series of concerts. American pianist Simone Dinnerstein – who shot to fame a decade ago with her self-funded, critically lauded and entirely distinctive recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations – concludes the series in this rush-hour concert. She turns to Schubert’s piano works, music of intimacy, warmth and luminous melodic beauty, which Dinnerstein herself describes ‘as if wordless voices were singing textless melodies’.

Recorded for future broadcast on BBC Radio 3
