nitroBEAT Pit Party - Suckerpunch Boom Suite

nitroBEAT

Trailer for nitroBEAT Pit Party showing some of the artists in the show

Pioneering New York artist Jean-Michel Basquiat is the source of inspiration for this dynamic theatrical gig.

Experience a vibrant tapestry of music from experimental artists such as Nkisi, Xana and Mikel Ameen. Dance along to Emma-Jean Thackray’s experimental beats, Throwing Shade’s patchwork of peripheral pop and Jack Miguel’s abstract word-jazz. Visual orator Michael Barnes-Wynters and digital art designer Dead Human will create an immersive filmic environment, animated by visceral dance and prose by Maya Williams and Titi Dawudu

With Matthew Xia at the creative helm, Suckerpunch Boom Suite responds to themes and deeper truths present in Basquiat’s work. In this spirit, nitroBEAT’s Artistic Director Diane Morgan curates an evening that celebrates freedom of expression through contemporary black culture, cross-fertilisation, liberation and inclusivity.
