We look back to 2016 when we spoke to screenwriter Allison Schroeder about the Oscar nominated film, 'Hidden Figures'.

I was very surprised the story hadn’t been told before, but most people don’t know it, myself included…

Based on Margot Shetterly's book of the same name, Hidden Figures tells the incredible true story of three brilliant African-American mathematical minds who helped win the 60s Space Race. The film focuses on the stories of three women who excelled in mathematics, computing or engineering with Taraji Henson as Katherine Johnson, Octavia Spencer as Dorothy Vaughan and Janelle Monáe as Mary Jackson. With supporting roles for Kevin Costner as a NASA director, Kirsten Dunst as supervisor and Mahershala Ali as a military officer who catches the attention and heart of Katherine.

From the Archive sees us dig into our extensive contemporary and classical music and cinema podcast archive as we rediscover interviews and discussions with artists, with our long-standing producer and presenter, Ben Eshmade.
