LSO On Track is a partnership between the LSO and ten East London Music Services which puts young East Londoners on a world-class stage with LSO artists to create inspirational performances.

In this concert Sir Simon Rattle brings together LSO On Track, students from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and LSO musicians to play together on the Barbican stage in concert celebrating the depth of talent in our young musicians.

Pre-Concert Events

10.30am–12pm Barbican Foyer
Make your own musical portraits, make portraits of your friends, follow a family trail and meet LSO musicians. Free for all families attending the concert – sign up for sessions on arrival.

Fountain Room, Level 0: Creative music workshop (30 mins)
Join LSO musicians in this creative musician workshops as they explore musical portraits based on Elgar's Enigma Variations. Bring an instrument if you have one, but don’t worry if you don’t. There will be plenty available!

Freestage, Level 0: Portraits
Our artist will be helping people make portraits of each other, inspired by different art forms. Have a go at some pop-art and cubism!

Club stage, Level -1: Conducting workshop (10 mins)
A rare opportunity to have a go at conducting some musicians from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. This fun and informal workshop will give a little insight into how it feels to be in charge of the musicians!
