Lise Davidsen & Freddie De Tommaso with James Baillieu

Lise Davidsen is sitting with her arm resting on a table on the left hand side of the image, Freddie De Tommaso stands in front of a fountain in coat and scarf on the right

Lise Davidsen is the definition of box office in the opera world right now. And we’ve got the perfect vocal partner for her in Freddie De Tommaso, ‘a young tenor of limitless promise (The Times).

This exciting soprano-tenor duo will play off one another in a first-half selection of great opera arias, before turning on the romance in a lighter, sentimental second half including the simple, beautiful melodies of Tosti’s Neapolitan songs and crowd-pleasing numbers from My Fair Lady and The Merry Widow.

Following her 2019 Barbican recital, The Daily Telegraph described Davidsen’s voice as shining ‘like silver in sunlight’ – and the darling of Europe’s major opera houses is only getting better, having since been named Female Singer of the Year in the International Opera Awards. But with a voice of comparable weight and firepower, we’re convinced Tommaso, who 'set the house alight' (inews) in his unexpected Royal Opera House debut last year, will offer the perfect foil to Davidsen’s ‘God-given instrument’ (Daily Telegraph).

This performance will finish at approximately 9.30pm, including a 20-minute interval
