Inspired by some of Julia’s work, this walk animates a series of places on a route from How We Live Now to Queens Square in Bloomsbury that have been selected as sites for close looking and (re)imagining – opening up spaces we usually don’t notice to make visible different ways of being in, and thinking about, the world.
These sites have been selected by members of the feminist practice taking place, who will take turns to entertain, inform and interact with you. Projects that Julia was involved in, and stories that resonate with them, will be surfaced along the way. At Barbican we will view the world from ‘tilted horizons’ and then move through secret gardens, backstreets and famous houses, before visiting the Calthorpe Project (the site of an unbuilt Matrix project) and then on to Queens Square, to hear about ‘embroidered minds’.
