Weekend Lab: Nosedive

adult is in a handstand with her legs in splits, with a girl on the floor holding a microphone to her mouth

Work physically and playfully to explore how the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award winners tackle big questions with circus.

Directed by Ellie Dubois and Pete Lannon of SUPERFAN, Nosedive uses contemporary theatre and circus to look at how cooperation, trust and security shift at different stages of life. Pushing themselves to the limit, dancing with abandon, colliding into each other with urgency, the children and adults on stage perform feats and leaps that grow ever bolder and more impressive as they hurtle toward a future they can't control.

Under the guidance of the show’s directors, use performance scores and games to create new material based on the questions at the heart of the show. There will also be time for insight into SUPERFAN’s creative process, as well as reflection and discussion around how the show was created, and how adult and child performers can successfully collaborate.
