Khatia Buniatishvili in recital

An ethereal image of Khatia in a stately garden with wind in her hair, expertly playing the piano with great emotion

Come for the fireworks, stay for the poetry: Khatia Buniatishvili brings her barnstorming technique and thoughtful musicality to piano music by great Romantic and 20th-century masters.

Some pianists just attract superlatives. With ‘jaw-dropping virtuoso technique’ (Evening Standard) and a habit of causing a sensation, the Georgian’s showstopping, outrageous brilliance has to be seen to be believed. And with Chopin at his most bombastic and Liszt at his most flamboyant, this is a recital that won’t be short on thrills.

But there is far more to Buniatishvili’s artistry than the reputation that precedes her. Prepare for the incredible sense of drama she will bring to Prokofiev’s steely war sonata, and discover what Bachtrack called ‘the weighty introspection and dignity’ of her Brahms in music at the very heart of her musical vision.

End-time to be announced nearer the event.
