Britten Sinfonia: Eight Seasons

An image of the Britten Sinfonia musicians playing their instruments

A dazzling evening of Baroque music that grooves and Argentinian tangos flushed with 18th-century flair: Vivaldi’s radiant Four Seasons interspersed with Piazzolla’s sultry Argentinian response.

Britten Sinfonia and Thomas Gould present a musical fiesta to raise the roof. Expect explosive, edge of the seat music-making, the ferocious energy of Vivaldi’s iconic masterpiece juxtaposed with Piazzolla’s tango-inspired Buenos Aires homage and, in between, John Cage’s more enigmatic String Quartet, also divided into Seasons. Thomas Gould directs from the violin in a virtuosic tour de force, taking the soloist’s role in both the Vivaldi and Piazzolla.

End-time to be announced nearer the event.
