Maxim Vengerov and Polina Osetinskaya in Recital

Maxim Vengerov

The world-renowned duo of violinist Maxim Vengerov and pianist Polina Osetinskaya take to the Barbican stage for an evening that sets the gold standard for contemporary duet performance.

This dynamic and varied programme begins in Soviet Russia via Shostakovich’s emotionally wrought Violin Sonata and ends in earlier romantic works by Brahms and Schubert.

The last time the duo took to the Barbican stage together, The Arts Desk remarked that Vengerov demonstrated 'complete mastery' of his instrument, and Osetinskaya played with 'fire and vigour'.
