Wolfwalkers (PG)

School Screenings: International Women’s Day

Wolfwalkers

From Cartoon Saloon, the studio behind Song of the Sea, My Father’s Dragon and The Breadwinner, is Wolfwalkers - an uplifting and stunning animation about friendship and loyalty.

Co-produced by Nora Twomey (co-founder of animation studio Cartoon Saloon), Wolfwalkerstells the tale of a remote town in 17th century Ireland where hunter Bill Goodfellowe (Sean Bean) and his daughter Robyn (Honor Kneafsey) are sent to deal with increasing wolf attacks.

As her father sees to his duties, Robyn is left feeling isolated in a town that doesn't really want her, and frustrated by society’s expectations of her. One day she follows her father into the woods and discovers that the legend spoken in town of the infamous wolfwalkers is true...

The film is created with mesmerising and beautiful hand-drawn animation, with deep and striking colours. It's a lyrical adventure with a strong and rhythmic heartbeat throughout.
