Quartz Saxophone Quartet

Guildhall School of Music & Drama

Quartz Saxophone Quartet

Celebrating 30 years since forming at Guildhall, the Quartz Saxophone Quartet returns to launch a new CD with music by Mick Foster, joined by Guildhall performers.

Formed in 1994 while students at Guildhall School, the Quartz Saxophone Quartet brings together four of the UK’s top saxophonists - three now Guildhall professors - for a special anniversary concert.

Known for their dynamic performances and genre-spanning repertoire, the group returns to launch a new CD on Deux-Elles Classical Recordings, featuring music by composer and baritone saxophonist Mick Foster.

The programme includes works from the album as well as large ensemble pieces by Steve Reich, Christian Forshaw and Foster himself, performed in collaboration with current Guildhall saxophone students.

This concert is a vibrant celebration of Guildhall’s saxophone legacy, bringing together generations of talent.
