Sudan, Remember Us (12A)

Parent & Baby Screening

A woman in a red hijab and Sudanese flag on her face raises her hand in the air

Filmmaker Hind Meddeb captures four years of a revolution’s rise and fall, revealing how poetry, art, and music became the soul of Sudan’s fight for freedom amid dictatorship, hope, and war.

Sudan, Remember Us captures a jubilant moment of defiance among young Sudanese activists in Khartoum after the overthrow of a long dictatorship, and then chronicles the military crackdown that followed.

Documentary director Hind Meddeb previously co-directed Paris Stalingrad, which traces a young refugee's summer in Paris as he waited for solid answers on his future.

This brave and powerful documentary goes inside the lived experience of revolution, and looks at the sacrifices people must make in the fight for good.
