In the Nguyen Kitchen (12A)

Parent and Baby

A Vietnamese woman dances in a hallway

An aspiring actress is forced to move back home to her mother where they bond over family recipes, before Yvonne is given the chance of a lifetime, in this magical musical comedy set in Paris.

Stéphane Ly-Cuong represents one of the oldest Vietnamese diasporas in the world, with this magical musical comedy set in Paris.

The bright colours of Yvonne's dreams clash with her dull reality and mother's disapproval. In the kitchen, they find ways to no longer be strangers to each other and themselves.

As Yvonne gets a big break, she must choose between fulfilling her lifelong ambition or remaining true to herself. An exploration of family expectations, cross-cultural living, and what it means to have a dream.

Starring Leanna Chea, Camille Japy and Clotilde Chevalier.
