Fertile Ground

Join Nat from Hackney Herbal as she shares her top tips for gardening in a way that is earth friendly. 

This workshop will provide an introduction to ecological gardening with a focus on urban spaces, covering the basics of growing plants in an eco-friendly way. Participants will explore the importance of biodiversity and discover how to support local wildlife through gardening. 

As part of the workshop, you'll get to make a set of wildflower seed balls to take home.

Hackney Herbal is a social enterprise that promotes wellbeing through herbs. They are passionate about connecting people with nature in a way that helps people develop strong values for looking after the land around them. They run a mixture of community projects, including garden volunteering, workshops and courses.

Nat Mady is a Hackney-based permaculture with a passion for connecting people with nature and the city. She founded Hackney Herbal in 2015.

 

Running time: 1 hour 

At this workshop participants will be using plant materials and may come into contact with nuts.

This event is part of Fertile Ground, a day of workshops, talks and performances on Sun 23 Mar that celebrate the origins of life and how we look after it. 

A ticket to this event also gives you access to events in the conservatory on the same day.
