Balimaya Project meets the Discos Pacífico All Stars in a musical exchange blending West African and African-descendant cultures with Afro-Colombian marimba music and jazz.

Balimaya Project x Discos Pacífico All Stars unites a supergroup of over 15 musicians in a musical exchange rooted in Mandé jazz and Afro-Colombian traditions. This special concert celebrates the cultural connections between West Africa, Colombia’s Pacific coast and London’s vibrant jazz scene.

Musicians from groups including Bejuco, Semblanzas de Rio Guapi and former members of Agrupación Changó come together for this collaboration which sees artists honouring shared heritage and contemporary influences that have shaped African diasporic music across continents.

Music will be unveiled from their new album Calima, out now on the Jazz re:freshed label. Expect rich rhythms, dynamic improvisation and a unique fusion of instruments including djembe, balafon, marimba and cununo.

Jazz Re:freshed DJs and support artist Rokia Koné open the show.
