The Sweet East (18)

Two teenagers sit in a diner booth, looking dazed.

Sean Price Williams takes a group of teens on a surrealist road trip around America, as Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi and Simon Rex fall down the proverbial rabbit hole.

Premiering at Cannes, The Sweet East is the directorial debut Sean Price Williams, known usually as a cinematographer who collaborates with the contemporary greats (such as the Safdie brothers).

With a cast packed full of all the up-and-coming indie stars, The Sweet East is the satirical, surreal road-movie, following a group of high school students as their school trip goes awry and they end up wrapped up in crime / Hollywood / chaos.

Expect a trip.
