Here (PG)

Leaning in to the microscopic, this intimately meditative film explores the relationship between a Romanian construction worker and a Belgian-Chinese moss biologist.

Stefan, a Romanian construction worker living in Brussels, is on the verge of moving back home.  As he is ready to go, he meets a Belgian-Chinese young woman who works in a little restaurant while preparing a doctorate on mosses as a botanist. Her attention for the near-invisible stops him in his tracks.

Directed by Bas Devos, Here immerses you in the lives of these two characters as they get to know each other on a deeper level. Much like Shuxiu's engrossing study of moss, the film turns human life over as something to be explored and discovered.

Set in Brussels, but drifting between the urban and green spaces in and around the city, Here looks at how we occupy space, and what it means to be part of it.
