Britten Sinfonia with Nicky Spence and Ben Goldscheider

Winner of BBC Music Magazine’s 'Personality of the Year' award in 2022, tenor and broadcaster Nicky Spence joins Britten Sinfonia and star horn player Ben Goldscheider in Britten’s iconic Serenade.

Nicky Spence is a charismatic star of the opera stage, now at the peak of his career and renowned for his remarkable versatility. Goldscheider plays the solo part in the new horn concerto written for him by composer and pianist Huw Watkins, one of the orchestra’s closest collaborators. 

Britten Sinfonia is at full force in Judith Weir’s energetic piece inspired by a Paul Klee painting and in Mozart’s life-affirming and uplifting symphony. 

This performance will finish at approximately 9.30pm, including a 20-minute interval
